How My Camera Works

Aperture - how much light is allowed into the lens (f stops).

Main apertures are:

22.0



Shutter speed - how quickly the shutter open and closes to take the picture.

Main shutter speeds are:

1/2
1/4
1/8
1/15
1/30
1/60
1/125 (average)
1/250
1/500
1/1000
1/2000
1/4000



ISO (International Standard Organisation) - what setting you would use depending on the weather.

Main ISO settings are:
100 (sunny)
200
400 (cloudy)
800
1600 (nighttime)



Exposure Dial





This is the exposure dial, which tells us how much light we are allowing into the lens.
+1 means that there is x2 more of light being let in and +2 means that x4 more light is let in.
-1 means that there is x2 less light being let in and -2 means that there is x4 less light being let in.
