Independent Shoot Two
Once again, I have decided to use Imogen Cunningham to be my artist researcher due to this shoot staying among the same theme and goals.
Contact Sheets:
Best Images
I like this photo because I have centres the middle of the flower in the frame and making the petals seem like they are going around. Also, I like how the colour is very soft and does not seem too overpowering.
Once again, I like how the flower in in the middle of the frame and the petals are going around the frame creating a circle.
Images that require Improvement
AO3
For this shoot I wanted to take pictures of more flowers and experiment with more angles by taking close up and to the side pictures. I decided to go to a local park near me and take photos of the flower garden they have there. Imgoen Cunningham helped inspire me because one of her main focuses so I was able to look at a lot of her work and take inspiration from it and be able to come up with a lot of ideas for my own work.
The images that I've selected as my best I have used different types of close up angles to make the photo seem more unique and stand out more. I have demonstrated a close up and level angle in the second to last photo in my best images to help show all of the detail in the flower and the fallen pollen on the petals. With the yellow flower, I decided to do show a looking across the top angle which I had seen Imogen Cunningham do multiple times and I wanted to incorporate that into my work.
AO2
During this shoot I had to keep changing my settings on my camera because some of the flowers I was taking pictures of I was shooting them into the sun, therefore I had to keep manipulating my aperture so I didn't get an overly exposed photo. Due to the day I did this shoot being sunny, I had my ISO set to 200 and my shutter speed set to 1/125.
Manipulating images
I decided to only put one of the Photoshop screenshots in because I have done more or less the same for each photo because I like my photos to still be as close to the real photo as possible.
AO1
For this shoot, my artist researcher was Imogen Cunningham. Her work helped inspire me to take these photos of flowers in different ways. Once again, I wanted to focus on flowers like Imogen Cunningham has done in her work. By looking at all of her photos of flowers I was able to take inspiration and use her techniques and use them in my own work
AO4
Once again, my intentions for my images was to create interesting photos of flowers from very close up angles. To make this photos more personal to me, I decided to keep them in colour to help emphasise their vibrance and peaceful colours. Also, I wanted to demonstrate that I am inspired by Imogen Cunningham and take close up pictures of flowers but I wanted my own twist on the photos and keep them in colour and emphasise their vibrance.
I like these photos I have taken them from a close up angle, therefore, I am able to show more detail in the petals and the different highlights from where the light hits. I like how I've kept these photos in colour because this makes them look more interesting because the vibrance from the flower helps draw people in making my overall photo seem more interesting.
